NLP (Natural Language Processing) is the broad field encompassing all technologies that enable computers to work with human language — including ASR, NLU, TTS, and more. NLP includes tasks like Sentiment Analysis, text summarization, translation, and entity recognition. In the context of Voice AI agents, NLP is the umbrella covering all language processing stages in a conversation. According to Gartner, the NLP market is expected to reach $49 billion by 2027 (Source: Gartner, 2024).
